A disabled parking permit allows the disabled person to park the car in handicapped parking spaces, and on special conditions, in spaces where parking is forbidden.

Who is entitled to receive a disabled parking permit?
Are entitled to the disabled parking permit those who meet one of the following conditions:
- A disabled person who needs a car as a means of transport because of his disability.
- A disabled whose degree of disability reaches 60% at least and whose health may be aversely affected if he or she uses transport other than the car.
- A disabled person with limited mobility, who needs a wheelchair for his or her mobility.
Allowance recipients automatically eligible for a parking permit
The National Insurance will automatically transfer to the Ministry of Transport, a list of allowance recipients who may be eligible for a disable parking permit, as listed below.
Eligible people will receive from the National Insurance a SMS message containing a link to update their car details on the government website in order to receive the parking permit. After updating the car details, the permit will be sent to them by the Ministry of Transport.
Mobility
- Recipient of a mobility allowance with a medical disability of 60% and above who doesn't need a wheelchair.
- Recipient of a mobility allowance with a medical disability of 60% and above who needs a wheelchair (entitled to parking permit to the disabled in need of wheelchair).
Attendance to the severely disabled
- Recipient of attendance allowance at a rate of 188% and above.
- Recipient of attendance allowance at a rate of 50% due to blindness, chemotherapy or dialysis treatments.
- Recipient of attendance allowance - with 12 points under the section "mobility at home".
Disabled child
A child receiving a disabled child allowance for one of the following reasons:
Total dependency on others (eligibility at 188% and above), full supervision, blindness, hearing or vision loss, limbs paralysis, psychosis, dialysis, pathologic fractures, uncontrollable urge to eat, urostomy, colostomy, jejunostomy, prolonged eating, IV or tube feeding, tracheostomy, child needing oxygen, unbalanced epilepsy, severe asthma, respiratory tracts problems and cystic fibrosis.
Requesting a parking permit from the Ministry of Transport
Those absent from the list of allowance recipients who meet the conditions of entitlement to an exemption of car licensing fee and disabled parking permit, need to submit to the Ministry of Transport a request to issue a disabled parking permit using an online form and attaching relevant medical documents.
The Ministry of Transport will decide whether or not you are eligible for a parking permit.
